Scottish Diaspora Tapestry Update 14th September 2014

The Diaspora Tapestry is currently on tour throughout Scotland and around the world.  It depicts scenes from 25 countries that have a connection with Scotland. 

Our area was linked with Russia and GALE organised the completion of a community panel for our area depicting one of the convoy ships in Loch Ewe during WWll.  Over 70 local people added stitches to the panel including local primary school pupils. 

The tapestry is due to go on display at Inverness Museum and Art Gallery from 27 September – 25 October. 

If you get the chance to go and see it while in Inverness then please take a photograph of our panel as we’d love to see what it looks like in situ.
