Tourist Information

The Gairloch and Loch Ewe area is a popular holiday destination with beautiful scenery, great food and plenty to see and do.  However it is not particularly well known which can make it difficult to find the information you need to get the best out of your visit.   You’ll find some information on the area by clicking on the tabs on the menu on the left.  We also stock a wide range of books, maps and guides available online or in our Tourist Information Centre (TIC) in Gairloch.  These are full of useful information to help you plan walks and activities while in the area. Once you get here a visit to the TIC is a must.  Open all year round, it’s easy to find in the centre of Gairloch and stocks lots of free leaflets and guides on the area as well as

  • Weather forecast for the local area
  • Local events and what’s on in the area
  • Accommodation booking service
  • Information on public transport
  • Leisure centre and swimming pool timetables

Our staff and volunteers will be happy to chat and help you plan your visit so you get the best out of your time in the area.  From where the best walks are and what events you shouldn’t miss to ideas for things to do on a rainy day.   As well as providing all this free information the TIC includes one of the best stocked gift shops in the area.  Where possible our products are sourced locally, made in Scotland or are Fairtrade and all profits made on sales go straight to the charitable work of GALE
