BOAT TRIPS

The sea lochs along the coast provide wonderful opportunities for boat trips, a number of which operate in Loch Gairloch from Gairloch and Badachro piers.

Shieldaig Croft Boat Trips

Seanachaidh

Shieldaig Croft run luxury Targa 44 motor charters which depart from a private pontoon in Badachro, Gairloch.  Each trip can be customised to suit requirements ranging from commercial charter to weddings, anniversaries or just a great day out on holiday.

Champagne and canapes or coffee and cake are served in the Boathouse before departure.

Costs are typically £1200 per day for the boat and we can accommodate a maximum of ten guests on board.  For those wishing to take an overnight trip, the boat sleeps four comfortably although we can organise hotels if that is preferable.  Trips to restaurants such as the famous Three Chimneys on Skye are a mere couple of hours away with fabulous scenery followed by a superb meal (booking early essential).

We also have an X-43 sailing yacht available for charter.

Go to St Kilda

Why not take a day trips by boat from Skye to the beautiful island of St Kilda - the last outpost of north-west Europe lying 85 miles west of Skye. St Kilda is a dual UNESCO world heritage site and National Nature Reserve. It is home to the world’s largest colony of gannets & fulmars, the biggest colony of puffins in Britain and the highest sea cliffs and sea stacs in Britain. Visit St Kilda to experience dramatic scenery, spectacular seabirds and unique isolation  and to ponder the poignant history of the island.

Trips run from April to September (and other dates by arrangement). Dates and availability are available on the website.
